FLO RIDA TRIP!

After much thought and consideration I have decided to enter the blog world. Bless it I know! I have been reading everyone else’s blogs for so long, I guess I should start my own. Although I don’t know who really would want to know about my boring life, but oh well, it’s fun anyway.

So I just got back from an amazing trip to Orlando, FL! It was so delightful, I traveled with my two brothers Austin and Hyrum, one of my very best friends Jenn, and my sister-in-law Mackenzie. It was a delight to be on vacation with 4 of the most beloved souls I know! We flew out EARLY Tuesday morning, Jenn and Hyrum flew out of Boise, while the rest of us flew out of Salt Lake. I couldn’t get Jenn and Hyrum on our same flight to Florida so they had to travel around the west while we all had direct flights to Orlando! Delta sure has gotten cheap in these tough times. It’s $15 per checked bag and they don’t even give you crackers and cheese. It’s cookies or peanuts, and a half glass of beverage! FOR THE LOVE! We were all so hungry when we landed.

As soon as I stepped outside I remembered why I loved Florida so much, the warm weather and the humidity does wonders to my dry Idaho skin! That night we just went for a walk outside and relaxed after a long day of traveling. The next day I got up and Jenn came with me. We went to my old place of employment! Bless Florida Hospital and all of my old friends there! They will always have a special place in my heart! It was so good to see all of my old coworkers that I had left behind. They made Florida bearable during my stay there and I love them all so much! Also while I was visiting, Maria offered me 5 free tickets to Disney World…. HOORAY!!! That afternoon we went to Daytona Beach and made a sand castle which we called Missi-Pissi… long story, but if you ask me about it I will gladly tell!

On to Disney. Now let me tell you. I have never EVER paid for Disney World and I’ve been there close to 7 times. I’ve just known people who have worked there so I get in for free. Granted I haven’t seen EVERYTHING there, but I have been on all the rides! Anyway, I’ve never done 4 parks in one day, but Jenn had never been so we were going to get our money’s worth! Now I DO NOT lolly gag around, I make out a plan and we do fast passes and use our time wisely. Thus, you are VERY tired at the end of the day, but it’s WORTH IT! Disney isn’t really crowded this time of year either so that’s helpful too. We started out in Hollywood Studios, that includes the Tower of Terror (which is 700 billion times better in Florida then Cali, it’s taller and drops you double the amount of times in Disneyland!), Rockin Roller Coaster, and a new Toy Story Ride. Then Epcot which doesn’t have much rides but is cool to see. We were so hungry by then, and we had to walk to China to eat, I thought I was going to pass out!! We rode the Race Track, Mission to Mars, and Soarin’! Good Times! On to Animal Kingdom (my favorite probably!) we rode the Safari, which is amazing in itself, to see all of the animals. Then Expedition Everest, which is my 2nd favorite behind of Tower of Terror. A roller coaster with a Yeti (it’s everything the Matterhorn wishes it could be!) We also did the Dinosaur ride, which is like Indian Jones Ride. Oh great fun, and very scary, LOVE IT!! On to the Magic Kingdom, where all the magic really does happen. One the castle is HUGE!!! WOW! After seeing both Disney’s in a span of 2 months, World has EVERYTHING! We did Splash Mountain, Thunder Mtn Railroad, Pirates, and Buzz Lightyear, oh and Haunted Mansion. PHEW! After that we RAN back to Tower of Terror for one more ride! Man were we TIRED but we got our money’s worth! HOORAY!!

On to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This park is my favorite. While I lived in Orlando I had a season pass here. It’s just all of the roller coasters and excitement that you could need. Oh they are currently building a Harry Potter land, and an amazing new roller coaster that is supposed to be done soon. I guess I’ll just have to go back! IT was great fun, anyone who goes to Florida has to do Universal. The Mummy Ride alone is worth it! I LOVE IT ALL!!

The next day we headed to Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. The waves were huge this day, and I guess this beach is closer to the sun because we were there for half the day that we were at Daytona and all of us got burnt! Good grief, I loved it though! Now my summer tan can start! We also went to the outlet malls where I bought a new Dooney and Bourke bag, LOVE IT! Kenz loved it because it had a Banana Republic outlet!! We then went to downtown Disney and just looked around. Good times. Then on to dinner at Bahama Breeze. A great seafood restaurant. We got to eat outside next to a table of drunk college kids. BLESS!

We decided to go another day to Universal, and we got to see all the shows and stuff. It was a great relaxing day! Oh Universal, BLESS YOUR SOUL!

Then it was over, just like that. It wasn’t nearly long enough at all. UGH! I still don’t want to be back. But I have to make money somehow, hello I’ve got another vacation to plan. Mexico anyone? Oh don’t worry, the swine flu will be gone by then….

I get to be the FIRST to leave a comment!

1) You said "Flo rida". HAA!
2) I still maintain that Disneyland is still better than Disney World! DL is classic! Let's not forget THAT is where the magic started...and it all started with a mouse!
