I Miss You!

I'm slacking on my blogging. Just been crazy busy at work and after. Not enough hours in the day really. Summer is quickly approaching and I'm excited for it to finally be warm enough to not turn on my defrost when I leave for work in the mornings (snow is forcasted tomorrow, awesome). Anyway, I've had A LOT of changes in April, and when I say a lot I totally mean it. It has been a good "growing" experience I like to call it. I told my co-worker that I feel like God stuck me in a snow globe and shook it... The biggest change? Most of my friends and loved ones moving home, or leaving has been super hard. I mean you would think at 26 I would get the hang of this crazy instability... but no, I love deeply (and usually quickly) and that's a good and bad thing when you think about it. Not everything can be rainbows and butterflies (isn't this a Maroon 5 lyric?), but it's OK, I have memories, pictures, Skype, and my cell phone so really now. Thank goodness too! So now that April is over here is my tribute to my beloveds who left for bigger and better things (sort of)....
Ashley Tippetts
Ashley's departure was so unexpected I don't think I've really grasped the concept that she's actually gone. I remember the first time I met her I knew instantly I would love her. She's one of a kind, seriously, I've never met anyone like her and probably never will. After stepping off a long board on Friday she broke her ankle, and that meant the end of summer for her and the end of a era in Rexburg. She was gone in a matter of a day, and who knows when I'll see here again. But here are somethings I'll always remember about her (contributions from my dear Riana)....
1. The LAUGH.. dangerously contagious, everyone around her ALWAYS caught the bug
2. She was the Official Ward Smile Enforcement- on the stage, by the organ, every Sunday, staring into your soul, killing you with the famous smile
3. Her signature was her convincing Chinese impression, it caught on with her Seminary students. We thought we were the only ones who noticed the resemblance!
4. Favorite saying, “Oh, well.. you know!” She could respond/communicate with us five different ways with this phrase.. incredible..
5. After nearly a year and a half with her, and all her amazing talent, we didn’t find ONE thing that she COULDN’T DO.. except ride a long board.
6. Seriously no matter how bad her day was she was always asking how mine was... now that's amazing!

Hyrum and Emma
I already did my farewell blog to Hyrum here. But I also miss Emma. She's just an amazing soul and a good person. Bless her, at least she's going to be in my family forever. I seriously got a two-for-one deal with her. Now I get to enjoy Hyrum and her together. Delightful, I cannot wait for the wedding in June!

Brycen aka B
Granted he's coming back (thank goodness someone is), he's missed terribly. Most definitely the life of the party wherever you go, it's hard not to know who he is (or where for that matter). There isn't enough space to write all the things he's taught me and all the fun we all have had. My goal in life was trying to make him laugh (not hard), but his laugh is totally contagious. We have a lot in common and so we became fast friends... and really he's just one of those people who instantly makes you feel one of a kind. He makes any situation fun (even if it's totally awkward), and fiercely loyal to those he cares about. I have so many experiences with him that I'll always remember (one in particular includes a sleigh ride), but seriously he's a gem. He's selling security systems to protect the people from the crazies of Texas. Summer just won't be the same without him!
So moral of the story  - Don't Cry because it's Over, Smile because it Happened (thank you cheesiest quote ever, but also so true)....

Graduation Part 2

My brother and sister-in-law graduated from BYU this past weekend. It was a whirlwind of events that is for sure, but I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see them both accomplish something so great. And from BYU nonetheless. I love them both very much and I know they both have worked hard at their degrees. Now comes the hard part...finding a job... eek!! Congrats Grads!
This is Austin taking Liam across the stage. It was so cute, he was in his little outfit the whole crowd laughed at how darling he was!
What a precious little family. Congrats you guys I love you!
Missing half of the family, but they were there in spirit!
 The grads with Pa
Met, Married, and Graduated from BYU
 Yay Brother!
 Yay Sister!
At the hotel we found a place to keep Liam contained. HAHA!

Mental Timeout

It's alright to have a bad day, that's what I tell others, but why can't I take that advice for myself? Don't you ever have days where EVERYTHING and I mean everything annoys you? From the length of a text message reply to ding on your computer telling you that there's a new email waiting, everything just makes you want to punch something? That was yesterday. Today is not looking good either.

Or I love that everyone is allowed to have a bad day BUT me? I have to be the cheery happy one, and if I'm in a bad mood everyone is disappointed in me. Let me sit here and scowl for a moment alright? I don't feel like being the normal happy me everyone is accustomed to. I would like to be Debbie Downer today if that's alright.

I am happy, I love my life, and really I am so blessed. Today is just well one of those days. So just give me a second (a mental timeout if you must). And I'll be back to my old self in no time! In the meantime, just a hug and a I love you and "understand it's one of those days" pep talks. Much appreciated indeed.

My New Purchase!

This weekend was actually pretty chill which is weird for me I know. Mariah moved up here so I made sure she was all settled in and had all of the necessities to get settled in. This is her 2nd semester so she's a pro now! J On Friday I purchased these beauties. Seriously, it was such a compulsive buy, but we needed them and I wanted them so there we go. I also got them for way cheap and I haven't regretted it since. What a delight to sit on the couches and not want to move (compared to the last ones we had). Furniture buying makes me feel so old, but I love it. I have a cute little house started with all the furniture I own. I just need a kitchen table and chairs and I'm set!

 My couch
 Loveseat
 Both together, how beautiful!
And of course include the lovely Lovesac...can't forget that!

I also FINALLY saw Harry Potter 7 Part 1… I can't believe it took me 6 months to see it. Gosh. I'm lame. I thoroughly enjoyed it and you know for the last movie I will be seeing it opening night. Speaking of summer movies I'm so excited for this summer's line-up. I get Entertainment Weekly and this past week was their summer movie preview. Oh my! Harry Potter, Transformers, Pirates, The Help, and the list just goes on and on. I better budget my money to have a movie theater fund (it's $10 now to see a movie, REDIC).

I met everyone at Winger's and of course I have to take pictures. Well actually Ashley and I had a heck of a time getting a picture right, so here are some of the many attempts. Oh I love this girl!
Our first attempt, and my hair was being stupid
By the 7th photo I was laughing so hard...so here's just another one showing me laughing...
Jesh, finally! :)
Finally, I'm ready for this summer to start. The sooner the better actually. I have so many events and things planned this summer I can't wait until they arrive.

"I Don't Want to Grow Up" Party

My dearest friend Ashley was on the brink of finding out if she would get her job she wanted. So instead of sitting around just waiting we decided to throw a party of course! So we made everyone bring their favorite childhood snack and then we made grilled cheese sandwiches. There was an array of cookies, chips, and drinks. We had a lot of fun, and enjoyed just hanging out, because "growing up" is never fun. I felt like it was our kick-off to the summer party (a little), I mean it's only April. I will have an official summer kick-off soon though, and BBQ will be included! Here are some pictures of the fun we had...
Naturally I am the one cooking, because well I love to cook. And Eunice doesn't like others to cook sometimes :)
Hometeacher and I being little kids with our Squeeze It's and Cheetos. Delish. We also had tater tots which is the ultimate necessity!
Ash and I... we never want to grow up!
My "other family" as I like to call these people (minus a few). Love them!
So Destin and Nate have Teacup Yorkies... the most adorable dogs EVER!
Just chillin' in the basement you know... talking about quilting and things (HA)!
Master Hometeacher...
OK so A-town came over straight from work and he had this "awesome" shirt on. I couldn't stop laughing at the surfing turtle... so legit. HAHA!
Anthony also broke his finger. This picture doesn't even do justice to how sick it looks. Ugh...being a farmer is hard work yo!

Hyrum and Emma's Graduation!

Hyrum and Emma graduated this past weekend. My entire family was able to come and see them on this awesome occasion! I love my family. They are pretty much the funniest (and good looking I might add) people around.
 Mom and Hyrum!
Dad (and future employer) and Hyrum!
Oh my brother who I love so much and I'm so proud of! Good times at BYU-I!
Look the happy couple, both graduating!
The Blaylock "kids" you know, even the in-laws are the kids!
Don't Emma and I look like sisters? I love her!
Two of my most favorite people, I certainly do love them!
 The whole family... presh!
HAHA I just had to add this picture because Austin is telling Liam not to jump in the pool.

Bittersweet Ending (sort of) to an Era...

Today is a bittersweet day for me...

Today my BFF and brother aka my Hyrum is graduating college. He was present for my two semesters of college and I've been with him for his entire college career. He's been through everything with me, and I've been through everything with him. Crazy roommates, overdrawn bank accounts, the need for some real food, laughter, and good times. College is one of the most amazing experiences, and I'm glad I got to share it with him. I'm so proud of him. I'm so happy for him. A life goal complete. I remember when I graduated I cried tears of joy, all I could think was, I can't believe I did it. I got a degree! Anyway, it's so sweet to accomplish something so big like that. You can now be considered special because you did it, you stuck through the finals, the papers, the no sleep to get that peice of paper that says you are smart!

The bitter part? He leaves me and this time he isn't coming back. He leaves me in Rexburg, where I have to solve my problems on my own. I have no one to run to for male advice. No one to escape roommate or boy drama. He knows me better than anyone in the whole planet. Do I depend on him a little much? Eh sometimes, I mean it isn't unhealthy, but I love him dearly.

Congrats my dearest brother, not only to graduating with a degree, but finding a beautiful woman along the way! You truely are blessed, and I'm so blessed to have you as a brother. Much love!

The best part though. My baby sister Mariah is just starting her college career, and I know that her and I will have some of the exact same memories I shared with Hyrum. It's a good thing too, because I know 4 years from now I'll be writing the same exact post about her.
