Get Better!

So the past couple of nights have been a little rough around here. I know, amoungst all the happy celebrations and planning my poor baby sister has been terribly ill. To the point where she was admitted to the hospital yesterday:
Isn't she just gorgeous even in the hospital? They don't know exactly what's wrong with her but her kidneys are pretty much shutting down, plus she can't keep anything down. It's pretty scary, but she's in really good spirits. She had to quit track though (which is sad because she's an amazing runner) and no more cheerleading for the rest of the year either. Prayers go a long way, so they would be greatly appreciated on her behalf. She's a Blaylock so I know she's a fighter...

Since I'm also in the process of moving (B and I started last night), I told B's car to work today. Since you know my future husband is a quarter black he thinks he's gangster. So he's got the new flashy car with the tinted windows, booming bass, and tricked out stereo/DVD player. I felt so cool driving it around today.
I even used his secret stash to get me my soda for the day:
Don't worry that secret stash also got in to Shoshone Falls.
It's Friday and I have a lot planned for this weekend, mostly moving and hanging out with B and family. B moves to Twin Falls on Tuesday and I don't think I've prepped myself for that either. I'm sure going to miss him, and it's going to be hard, but totally doable... If I can make it through last summer, I can most definitely handle seeing him only on the weekends this summer. Since he's been out of school he's been working really hard on our yard and garden. I'll have to take some pics and post them, he's so proud of it too! So cute!

Here's to a happy weekend, and to enjoy every moment!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

I haven’t done an awkward or awesome post for a while, but there is just too many this past week that I couldn’t let it pass by. So here you go!
Awkward:
  • While in Twin Falls this past weekend B and I were eating at Five Guys Burger and Fries. We were just enjoying our lunch when this lady sits right by us, pulls out a box of honey nut cheerios and a cup from the restaurant from a previous visit and proceeds to fill up her cup. B and I were trying so hard not to laugh, but really, it’s not a free refill on DIFFERENT visits. She just sat there and proceeded to eat her Cheerios and Diet Coke. Bless…
  • Yesterday our work had an Aflac meeting. You know one of those learn about your benefits kind of thing. Anyway, there’s a pregnancy portion, but you have to wait 2 months after the effective date to get pregnant, anyway, this guy in the meeting (who is really weird) pretty much asked the rep when he needs to knock up his wife so it can be covered. I cannot tell you how awkward it was… smh.
  • We had many experiences in Twin Falls… B and I love people watching. Seriously, we saw this guy that was completely bald on top and Afro the rest of his head. Oh bless, don’t you know that looks funny?
  • While tanning yesterday I fell completely asleep, it was so awkward when the tanning bed went off and scared me awake and for a moment I was like “Where in the HECK am I?”… So funny.
  • I ran to the store the other night to get B some milk and other necessities while he took a shower… anyway, while there I had a lady ask if my ring was fake, to which I said no… and then she asked if she could wear it. Uh Ok I’m just going to let you wear my engagement ring while you check out my groceries. People in Rexburg are WAY too comfortable with strangers.
  • B’s current neighbors and my future neighbors, remember that whole way too comfortable with strangers thing? Well these people take it to a whole other level. People it is called underwear because we wear it UNDER our clothes. I’m sure you get the picture.

Awesome:
  • Yesterday B and I finished cleaning up the garage and then we started to get our garden ready, working side by side and laughing and talking. I just had a flash of what my life will be like in the next 30 years, and I love it.
  • Even though I’m trying NOT to freak out about wedding planning and what have you, it just happens sometimes. Jenn has been so awesome; she lets me bounce ideas off of her, and is honest and realistic about what I want. See what a great wedding planner she is… oh and BFF!
  • I got some great advice this week from a co-worker. I was telling him that some people in our singles ward are acting weird, and don’t talk to us anymore and it hurts my feelings. To which he said “well then you must be doing something right, or else they wouldn't be envious”. Then I thought about how I’ve acted sometimes when my friends got married, and I totally felt that envy too, so no need to take it personally. It just made me feel better…
  • Hulu Plus is amazing.
  • Cuddling.
  • Having a good cry in a hot shower.
  • I’m totally obsessed with Instagram these days. I think I’ve said it before, but I’m trying to convince everyone with a smart phone to get it.
  • I went shopping with B on Saturday and didn't buy one thing, and I felt really sad. That’s when I realized I have a tiny addiction to shopping, which I’m slowing breaking. Hooray!
  • I love spending an ENTIRE day with someone and laughing most of the day.
  • I have an amazing family, and I’m grateful for each one of them. It’s when you go through trials that you know together it can be just a little easier.
  • Mariah is back in Rexburg! Hyrum and Emma will be up here this weekend!
  • I’m moving this weekend, and even though moving is a pain, this is a good move, because my next roommate will be B J!

Twin Falls and Back

This weekend couldn't have been more perfect. When I decide to do things that are unplanned it seems to work out better. I had all these things planned for this weekend that HAD to get done from packing to finally cutting my hair, but when B asked me if I would like to go to Twin Falls with him I thought it would be a great adventure. So we left at like 7 in the morning, stopped in Blackfoot for some breakfast... saw the nastiest looking woman wearing Uggs and a booty shorts (seriously so many awkward moments from this trip), and then finished our trip to Twin. It was so good to just have one-on-one time with B, it's crazy how we always have something to talk about, and I always learn new things about him.

We made a stop at Shoshone Falls before he decided to start working, and it was a delight. Perfect Saturday and a lot of interesting people. I've found that whenever I'm with B random people just talk to us. I don't know if that's because of him, and his personality but everyone just feels the need to talk to us about random things. We even saw a man take off his shirt and do a couple Yoga poses while his embarrassed daughter took pictures. So funny. This is one of the reasons that I love B so much, we think so much alike, so when we both saw what this guy was doing we burst out laughing. I always tell B how much I love going to National Parks and historic places because well I'm a history major! He then replies with I'll go wherever you tell me, acting so disinterested, but behold:
Evidence that he too loves a good historic informational board! Caught ya!
Here we are, we don't look like tourists do we?

He looks so much like Parker when he does this face...
I sure do love him, and everything he does with me!

 A must see!

 Impersonating Yoga man...
Oh and Titanic
After Shoshone Falls (and our $3 entry fee to which we paid in Quarters), we headed to the Temple. It's a mini Rexburg Temple. It was so beautiful outside and we had a look around. After B drove around for a little while looking at places he could sell, we decided to go to Target. We had registered at Macy's the night before, so Target was our next stop. The boy was crazy with that scanner! It was a lot of fun, and we laughed a lot at all the random things we could register for... don't worry I don't want cat food! After spending a good hour and half there we were starving so we went to Five Guys Burger and Fries. It was so good. (Another awkward moment to which I'll share on Thursday). We headed to the mall and had a great time looking at every Nike and Jordan shoe available and of course, people watching. That's our most favorite thing to do.

We then headed home and had a really great drive, it was a beautiful evening. Stopped at Red Lobster for some King Crab, and then crashed in Rexburg watching Hulu.
Ok, so this boy of mine can eat crab like nothing I've ever seen before. It really is an art.

Sunday was another gorgeous day. After church we made some great dinner and then relaxed. It was such a great day outside so we went to Porter Park. Ok so the BYUI dating scene is a whole other post in itself. I saw way too many boys doing stupid hand stands, girls pretending to not know how to skateboard, and of course a LOT of flirting and wrestling around. So funny. I want to make a movie about it all, oh wait, I think that's already been done. It's like as soon as it's warm everyone is out and about, and so are the hormones!

To top it off, we found this picture on the sidewalk:
Only in Rexburg, would you find this drawing. It was so odd, haha. What a great weekend. I loved just spending it with B, because honestly there's never a dull moment when he's around... plus he makes me laugh all the time. I sure do love him, and I will remember this weekend always.

Catch Up!

It has been a crazy week that's for sure. Work was crazy, my personal life is crazy, so therefore my blogging had to be put on the back burner. I hate when I neglect my blog because well it's my journal in a sense. I think for my birthday or Christmas I'm going to ask to have it printed out, then I can have my "scrapbook".

Anyway, this past weekend was great! My parents came up for clogging competition and Ry moved up here to go back to school. We all spent the night in Pocatello so we go could dress shopping and B could sell. It was fun to hang out with my parents, and it broke B in a little more too! My mom's youngest group got best overall, so they were way excited. Saturday night we hurried back to Rexburg to get set up for our ward activity we were in charge of. Glow in the dark volleyball. It was such an awesome idea, B is such a great help, I'm so glad they called both of us to that calling or else I would be really overwhelmed. I think the people that came really liked it. After that we were both just so exhausted. The thing I love about B is that even though he loves to go and party like I do, he also LOVES to watch movies. It's so nice to know that he loves doing what I love doing. We watch a lot of movies, and now since we have Hulu Plus a lot of that too! Sunday we had a BBQ and it turned out to be pretty cold. I can't wait for the days of summer where I can lounge around all day outside!
B and I at clogging competition!
Also, B loves to make fun of me because it always seems like I'm spilling something. Monday night was no exception, I spilled on my hoodie I was wearing. UGH!!

On a sidenote, everyone has told me that being engaged is the WORST part about everything. It's just stressful, and hard because you're almost there, but not quite. So far it's been so fun but also stressful. B is a great support is making sure I don't freak out too much. Bless his heart, I'm sure when I come to him crying he could roll his eyes at me but instead he listens and reassures me that everything will work out (even though sometimes I know he's not even sure). Its just that sometimes we both feel we get bombarded with everything, and it's hard to not feel discouraged, just because you want everything to just fall into place and at the current moment it seems like nothing will. I guess this is the part of life in which you just hold on for dear life and wait for August 16th!

Finally! I posted about my hair envy here, well I jumped in and tried a hippie scarf. I think I'll try it again sometime, it was really fun to wear!

My Best Friend's Wedding and a Baby Blessing!

Be warned there are a lot of pictures. I can’t help it, I need to document my life… My weekend was SO crazy but so good. So here goes nothing!

Friday B still had to finish up a little bit of finals, but he was mostly done when I got off of work. We decided to go to the temple, and that was so good! Afterwards we tried to go to dinner, but honestly since it was graduation, we just settled for some fast food. We then just settled down and watched a movie.
Saturday we were up by 5:30 a.m. B had to be in Idaho Falls by 6:30 and we still hadn’t packed anything. So we were up and at ‘em pretty early. Then I headed down to Moreland for Sarah’s wedding brunch and then her wedding later on that day. She looked beautiful. The decorations were phenomenal and I was so happy for her. She looked really happy and I’m so glad she’s a married woman now. I was pretty emotional all day, but that comes with being the best friend I guess, plus B wasn’t with me and I missed him (I know, mushy love stuff). I am happy though because come to find out we will both be in the same ward once I’m married. I’m pretty excited about that.
 The happy couple, pre-marriage ceremony!

Sarah's sister Katie is a florist and she does the most amazing work. Seriously!
This is were the receiving line was!

 This was the food table!
 There they are!
 Doesn't she look so happy?!
Hey smile!
After the temple B was ahead of schedule in Twin Falls so I had to leave early to pick him up. The drive home was fun but we were both so tired. B has a DVD player in his car, so thank goodness for that because I think we watched 3 movies this weekend. That night we ran over to Austin and Kenzie’s to see new baby Reece. He looks just like Liam and such a good baby. Liam seems to like B more than me these days, which is rude, but that’s OK. That night my mom and dad helped my sister put prom together and so we ran up there to help them clean up. B was such a good sport, I really put him to work and he had already been up for so long. I think by the time we got home and go into bed it was close to 3:00 a.m. Talk about exhausting. The prom was decorated so cool though; it was a roaring 20’s theme. My sister had the most beautiful dress, she looked stunning!
Baby Reece
Sunday was Easter! So I got up early to help my mom be the Easter Bunny, and then we dyed eggs. It was fun! So thankful church was at 11:30! The blessing was beautiful. After church we then had our annual picture taking time and of course food. So good! It was a beautiful day outside and I loved just kicking it with my family. We even had an Easter Egg Hunt in which cash prizes were awarded to those who could find the certain “hard to find” eggs. I think I squeaked out $1. HA! Then we went up to Hyrum’s house and checked out his yard since that’s where we are going to have our reception. A lot of work is going to need to be done, but it’s such a beautiful view and the yard is huge. I cannot wait to see it come together! I just wish it was here already!
 The boys of the family!
I just love this picture because they are crazy sisters, and Mariah is holding the pooper scooper!
I finally get a couple shot during family picture taking moments!
I love this sweet picture of my grandpa and baby Reece
Look at us aren't we fab? I love Maddie's dress, and how she's standing the very front...
My sister and me, isn't she just gorgeous?!
Dying Easter Eggs.. I know we are hard core!
Since B is done with school I took work off yesterday and we just kicked it at the house. Being lazy of course! On our way out of town we went to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate B’s AMAZING grades (he only got 2 B’s the rest were A’s)! I’m so proud of him, he worked his behind off this semester and you can totally see that in his grades. All those late nights weren’t for nothing!

This next weekend my parents will be in town so I’m excited that we get to spend some more time with them, AND Mariah finally will be back in Rexburg! Thank goodness, I’ve missed her!!

Hair Envy

I've had my long hair for a couple of years now. It's the longest it has ever been, and quite frankly I'm proud of it, that is until I get on Pinterest and see everyone else's beautiful hair and cool hairstyles and then I look in the mirror and say "crap". Honestly how can you get your hair to do all those magnificent things? I either straighten it or defuse it, and since I don't wash it everyday (something that's taken me YEARS to finally accomplish because I've trained it not be oily), the next day just ends up being a ponytail... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... I mean I can do anything to anyone else's hair, but when it comes to mine, ei yi yi...

For awhile I just gave up on the idea of having cool hair, and embraced by locks, but now I've got the itch to try something new, yes I want to try the "scarf" or "bandanna" look. I'm fairly confident I can pull this look off, well I was until this morning when it took me a good 20 minutes just to get it securely fastened on my head only to have it fall off before I even could get to work during my 25 minutes commute. I think I muttered something like "well fine, it's windy outside today anyway". Only one word comes to mind when I think of this and it's RUDE.
Then I think oh I could have cool colored hair, but dark purple doesn't exactly show up with someone who has dark brown hair.

Finally I just put it up in a bun and said, that will have to do for today. Maybe one Saturday I should just sit and try a million different hairstyles or better yet maybe master just one. I really shouldn't have hair envy, but someone who has long hair should be able to do something with it right? It's like mocking the extension loving Gods or something. Lauren Conrad is the my hair idol. Honestly that girl can and does do everything imaginable with her hair. Now that's really rude!

Don't EVEN get me started on how my hair can't hold curl when curled with a curling iron. Honestly...

My Conference Weekend!

I always love Conference weekend. I mean I have a legit excuse for parking myself on the couch for two full days and staying in my PJ’s! This year was no exception, except well B and I had a ward party to organize and put on, but it went really great and we had an awesome turnout.
Friday we went bowling with Anthony and Dani. It was a lot of fun, I didn’t get any pictures of them though, and that’s super lame! I wasn’t really that competitive on Friday, I was just mostly happy it was the weekend and I was with B. So we went to dinner at Wingers and that was fun too!

Oh yeah, and I bought two lottery tickets for the Mega Millions... don't worry I didn't win!
Saturday was our ward party and B was up and at it earlier than me! Crazy talk. We had a lot to get done, and so we listened to Conference and attempted to make our homemade root beer. I wish I would have recorded when we first put the dry ice in because it was a crazy reaction to the water! We laughed a good long time about that.
Anyway, we went all over Rexburg getting the grill and food and setting up our BBQ. Overall though it was a success! I modest turnout and the perfect amount of food. That night I made chicken roll-ups, and they turned out awesome! Even if we didn’t eat until 9:00 p.m.
 Grill Master!
My chicken roll-ups! They turned out awesome!
Sunday was great! I made cinnamon rolls and we got comfy for our day of conference. As you can see we had a great little set up going! I always prefer  the couch but B is a floor dweller. He loves lying on the floor, and so I usually end up joining him. I loved President Uchtdorf’s talk. My favorite for sure!
Our conference picnic!
We talked about going on a walk, but it was just too cold for me so we decided to pack some snacks and take a drive to Mesa Falls. B hadn’t been there in a while, and we wanted to just get out so it was perfect. On the way up there I was reading some of my journal entries from the past year, and it is really crazy to see how far we’ve come. You don’t realize how much you went through until you read it all again, the awesome part being you see how we were both each being prepared for our life together. It was an experience I’ll never forget! When we got to Mesa Falls we discovered that the road is closed because of snow, so we had to turn around. We decided on the way back to stop at Twin Bridges. My FAVORITE place to bridge jump and where I spent most of my summer when I was going to school… come to find out his family owns that land and that bridge. So we reminisced about the memories we had there. The water was so high and it was freezing cold!
B being a boy and moving a log!
Of course he pretends he's innocent!
Don't mind my hair, the wind was blowing super hard and it was freezing. Plus we were matching, haha love it!
Ugh, I just love his guts!
We stopped in St. Anthony to see his grandma when we heard this loud hiss, of course it would be his tire! So he changed it (in record time, I was quite impressed), and then we headed down to Rigby.
Looking back at it Sunday was a crazy jam packed day. No wonder I was so tired when we got back home.

This week is going to be crazy!! B has finals, and we have something going on every night this week. Plus the best part is that my dear BFF Sarah gets married on Saturday, and then we are going to Parma to see Austin and Kenz bless Reece. It’s starting to feel like summer already because well it’s just one weekend after another you are doing something. That’s ok, because the sooner August 16th can get here, the better! J
