Hip Hip Hooray

Here are a few things that I love today:
Glee – Gaga style and especially this song. Still gives me goose bumps (a weird mother / daughter duet sure, but still amazing!) Go to 36:12 to see the song!

This kid (ok and the rest of my family) but this kid I’m seeing TOMORROW!
Franklin Covey for giving my BFF Jenn a job that she really needs (and that we’ve all been praying really hard for)!

Idol finale. Dear Simon I’ll miss you so much. (Go Lee!)
Tomorrow after work I’ll be on my Memorial Day weekend vacation. Seriously, it’s the kickoff to summer (if we have one this year). My baby sister (ok not the baby but pretty close) is graduating high school, I cannot believe it. I’m so old!

Jenn, Old Navy, & Understanding Life (yeah right!)

This weekend was all sorts of fun. It was even a three-day weekend for me because I volunteered at the Snake River Animal Shelter Spring Scramble. Jenn also came up to visit me and we had a great time, I didn’t get to spend as much time as I would have liked, but enough to get my fix! Friday I went to the Drive-in with some ward friends and saw How to Train you Dragon (so cute, go see it!). We went to Old Navy on Saturday and found some AMAZING sales (clothes for $0.97 can’t beat that), I seriously got the rush of Black Friday. So many people and seriously Jenn and I were just grabbing clothes off the rack, who cares if they are sort of ugly, it’s $0.97. Here is our haul, pretty good if I say so myself! I love shopping…
I was in such a hurry to take this picture of Jenn because there were billions of people:

All of our loot together for under $20.00. Swagtastic!

On Saturday night we were supposed to have a ward party, but since it snowed and it was freezing outside, we opted for a hot tub party instead. This is a sign that was on the bathroom door. I thought it was so funny, so direct and to the point, this is why you have to shower before swimming!
That night some of my friends came over and we played one of my new favorite games, Who, What, Where…. I bought it at Fred Meyer and I LOVE it! Sunday was sort of uneventful and then I helped Jenn make lasagna, beautiful! We had a good talk about life, and it’s comforting to know that I went through the exact same thing at her age (and still go through it about, ha ha). It a rough transition for a Mormon girls who want to be married by 21 but aren’t. Now we have to enter the world and figure out what the heck to do with our life when all we want to do is have a family. UGH, it’s annoying…such is life. That might not be everyone's problem, but it seems to be mine at least. Life isn't easy, it is a test, whether it be crawling in a dark cave (uh uh no way!) or deciding what God wants you to do with your life. It's all about being happy with who you are as a person and what's the best thing for you! A satisfying good weekend, I am so happy Jenn came down, and I even finished another book. 25 down and 25 to go to make my 50 books in one year goal.

Fizzle Skittles

Seriously this candy will change the way you look at candy, so interesting, so addicting, so fun! I wish I would have taken a video!

Best TV Tuesday Ever...

Last night was so good! We ate at Millhallow (the best sandwiches in Rexburg in my opinion), Julene came over (love her!), Lee DeWyze KILLED on Idol, and Neil Patrick Harris was on Glee (and it was one of my favorite episodes all season). I CANNOT wait for next’s week episode it is the GAGA episode. Can you say the best idea, EVER. Ok they need to have a Beyonce episode and then my life would be complete. I loved Neil Patrick Harris guest starring and I love that Molly Shannon is on there too (she needs more screen time), but here is who I think they should recruite to sing/guest star:
1. Zac Efron (OMG!)
2. Nathan Lane
3. Matthew Broderick
4. Miley Cyrus (please I hate her, but it would be hilarious)
5. Liza Minnelli
6. Jay-Z & Beyonce (what if they were Mercedes parents?)
7. Ewan McGregor (recreate Moulin Rouge anyone?)
8. Hugh Jackman (I would DIE!)
9. Meryl Streep
10. Julie Andrews

I could go on and on, so for all those Gleeks out there, who is your wish list? As much as I dislike Britney Spears as a person, I do love her music (especially the old stuff) and would DIE to see a Britney episode (hilarious, I can see Kurt now)… Don’t worry JLo and supposedly Lady Gaga are already set to make an appearance.

Also if you want to read a SUPER funny dating story go here, it’s my old roommates blog and this story gave me a GREAT laugh today!!

Bountiful Baskets & Green Nail Polish

This weekend was interesting to say the least. Friday must have been uneventful because really I can’t remember it (I’m getting old). Saturday Sarah white gloved (aka DEEP CLEANED) our kitchen, I mean the Fridge, stove everything. I cleaned the living room, and washed the windows and picked up our bountiful basket. For those of you who have never heard of it, it’s the most amazing thing. For $15 you can get an entire laundry basket full of veggies and fruits straight from the farmers themselves. We got mangos, lettuce, tomatoes, corn on the cob, watermelon, squash, limes, peaches, apples, Brussels sprouts, and bananas in our basket this week. If you want to participate go to bountifulbaskets.org and sign up, it’s totally worth it! Anyway, to reward ourselves Sarah and I went to IF to get pedicures…
There was a lady there also getting a pedi and just couldn’t stop talking about how bright green my toes were. Seriously? It’s not that big of deal, it’s just nail polish! After that we went to Olive Garden (yum!) and then headed back home to go to the evening session on Stake Conference. So good! Yesterday it was a broadcast from Salt Lake and we got to hear the prophet, delightful! I’ve got to finish three more books before Memorial Day weekend, so that’s my goal (plus the sisters want to read them so I’ve got to finish them). That’s two weeks away, I can do it!

Friday's Lessons

I’ve learned the following things this week:

1. No matter how long it has been since you’ve seen them or heard from them good wholesome friends will welcome you with a smile and hug and makes it seem like you just talked to them yesterday. That’s the best!

2. I’m not the only one in the world who has drama… ha ha and it’s nice to help others with theirs for a change.

3. My family is amazing

4. The older I get the more I’m amazed at how truly blessed I am.

5. Having an education not only makes you earn more money ;), but also makes others respect you a little bit more!

6. Forgetting is harder than forgiving

7. Don’t feed into the drama, examine the consequences of my choices before acting…

8. I love books and I’m so mad that I haven’t read more since I really have been graduated for 3 years now!

9. I love the seasons, but summer is my favorite (so it needs to hurry up and get here)

10. It’s ok to have bad days, but make sure you have more good days than bad ones

It's supposed to be up in the 70's this weekend, operation get tan (thanks Jenn for the idea), is going to start!!

I am a Gleek & an American

I’m a regular TV watcher (but it’s slowed a little considering my book habit), thank goodness for DVR. Anyway, there are only a few shows that I love so much I can stand waiting through commercials, one of them is Glee! I’ve found this show to be one of the most original and family friendly shows out there. It teaches you to just be who you are and love it, but not only that, there are songs from my favorite musicals as well as mainstream songs. Seriously could it get any better? Oh ya, there are hot boys on it… um perfect! I have both Glee albums on my iPod and plan on buying the complete first season (I’m waiting until the current one is over)…Glee I love you!

Puck from Glee
Finn from Glee
Also I’ve been DVRing this History Channel special “America, the Story of Us”. It’s so good. I love American history and when I watch it I become even more grateful that I live in such an awesome country and I am so blessed. Last night we watched the Westward Expansion part and the beginnings of Industry in America (right before the Civil War). God Bless America!

A Whirlwind of a Weekend

I had the best time this weekend whilst at home. Even if it was for seriously only like 24 hours. I did so much! That morning I took the shuttle home so I got to Boise about 7:30 in the morning. Then we came home and I chatted with the family and started on my friend Alisa’s wedding present (I’m so mad I didn’t take a picture of it, a cute craft if I say so myself!) I was so mad because I left my announcement in Rexburg. THANKFULLY I messaged Alisa on my Blackberry at like 3 in the morning, and she responded quickly (thanks to her Blackberry) phew! It was such a beautiful ceremony. She was beautiful and her husband adores her. I even cried during their vows! We stayed around to eat some dinner and talk to friends I haven’t seen in AGES. Here she is, Alisa (Williams now!) we were bff in High School and I have so many fond memories of our good times together. I’m so glad she’s happy!

So we raced home and then ran up to the High School to see my little sister be in a play called Cinderfella in which she starred as Tinkerbell. Oh. My. Gosh. So hilarious. We sat on the front room (Jenn included) and laughed our HEADS off. I really didn’t get the gist of the story but the actors and everything were priceless. I love plays! I think Maddie has caught the acting bug!
Then we raced home and got ready to go to Iron Man 2, Hyrum, Jenn, and I went. It was good, but I was super tired. I love Robert Downey Jr.
Then it was Mother’s Day… beautiful!! Chinese Sundae’s for the win!!

It was so good seeing everyone even briefly. It was just refreshing to see all the people who I love so much. I had an awesome time with Jenn and Hyrum per usual, we will all be lifelong friends (well considering Hyrum he is my brother, but still!) Much love indeed! I love how some things will NEVER change. Ever.

Random Mix of Things

This weekend I get to go home for a short trip. I’m so excited, I mean it’s weird that I get excited about going home, but still it has been since February and even though I’ve seen my family in between those months, there is just something about going “home”. One of my best friends from high school is getting married so I’m excited to see her (even though I’m not excited for a mini class reunion…) but I would regret it if I didn’t go! We obviously aren’t as close as we were in high school, but we had some amazing times and I’m excited for her (plus her fiancĂ© is super cute!). I’m excited to see her dress and eat some good food, I know it will be beautiful.
Jenn will also be in town so I’ll get to see her too, we are all going to Parma High School’s spring performance of Cinderfella. Maddie has a small roll in this play but I know that it will be comical nonetheless. I love high school plays, they are just so great!
The past couple of days here in the arctic north have been miserable, yesterday we had snow, and the wind hasn’t stopped blowing for a good week. C’mon where’s the love mother nature, it’s May!!
I also had another crazy week but managed to get through 2 more books (one I listened too)… I’m becoming a pretty picky reader these days and I surprise myself by knowing almost instantly if I like the author or not. I could become a reading critic in no time. So my total number of books read this year is 22… My goal is to read 50 by the end of this year so I’m halfway there!! This post is pretty random mix of things, but hey that’s my life. Always.

Missing you...

Today I miss lots of people. Maybe it’s the weather, or maybe it’s just because I miss them:

The Parentals (always!)

Hyrum

Jenn
Them together and their silliness...
Of course this kid who I don't see nearly enough!
